Today, I’m excited to share a recipe that’s become a household favorite — my Skillet Salsa Crack Chicken. This dish is everything you want in a weeknight meal: it’s easy to prepare, packed with flavor, and delightfully cheesy.
Imagine tender, juicy chicken breast simmering in a rich, tangy salsa, infused with the subtle heat of pepperoncini peppers, all brought together by the creamy goodness of melted cream cheese.
It’s the kind of dish that hits all the right notes—savory, spicy, creamy, and comforting. And the best part? It’s all done in one skillet!
Ingredients You Will Need:
- Boneless, skinless chicken breast: The star of the dish, offering a lean and protein-rich base.
- Cream cheese: Adds a luxurious creaminess that perfectly complements the salsa.
- Picante sauce or salsa: Choose your favorite! This adds a zesty kick and depth of flavor.
- Pepperoncini peppers: These bring a mild, tangy heat that elevates the dish.
- Salt and black pepper: Essential seasonings that enhance the overall flavor.
One-Skillet Salsa Crack Chicken: A Flavor Explosion in Every Bite
- Adjust the Heat: If you like your food with a bit more kick, feel free to add extra pepperoncini or a dash of hot sauce to the salsa.
- Cooking Time: Depending on the thickness of your chicken breasts, cooking time may vary. Always check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F to ensure the chicken is fully cooked.
The beauty of this Skillet Salsa Crack Chicken lies in its simplicity. By using just a few ingredients, you create a dish that’s bursting with flavor.
The cream cheese melts into the salsa, creating a rich, velvety sauce that coats the chicken perfectly. The pepperoncini peppers add a hint of heat that’s just enough to keep things interesting without overwhelming your taste buds.
