Sage & Honey Creamed Hominy: A Simple Southern Comfort Dish

Have you ever just thrown together a dish using only what you have in your pantry, and it turned out to be one of the most delicious creations you’ve ever made? That’s exactly how my Sage & Honey Creamed Hominy recipe was born. Combining the earthy flavors of sage with the natural sweetness of raw honey, this dish is a delightful twist on classic Southern hominy. The best part? It’s incredibly easy to make, using just a few simple ingredients you likely already have at home.

A Southern Classic with a Twist:
Hominy, a staple in Southern kitchens, is one of those ingredients that pairs well with bold flavors. In this recipe, I took the creamy richness of coconut milk and paired it with butter, sage, and honey to create a silky, flavorful base. The result? A cozy dish that’s perfect as a side or even as the star of the show. This recipe is ideal for those who want to whip up something comforting without spending too much time in the kitchen.

Pantry-Friendly & Quick:
One of the things I love about this Sage & Honey Creamed Hominy is how easy it is to make. It’s a true “pantry recipe” — I had everything on hand, and in less than an hour, I had a flavorful, creamy dish. The coconut milk brings a luscious texture without being too heavy, and the cornstarch helps create that perfect thick, creamy consistency. Combined with the fragrant ground sage and a touch of honey for sweetness, this dish truly shines.

Why You’ll Love This Sage & Honey Creamed Hominy Recipe:

  • Easy & Quick: You only need 7 ingredients, and most of them are pantry staples.
  • Versatile: This dish can be a hearty side, or you can enjoy it as a creamy main course.
  • Unique Flavor: The combination of sage and honey adds a subtle yet distinct flavor that makes this dish stand out.

If you’re looking for a simple, Southern-inspired dish with a modern twist, you have to try my Sage & Honey Creamed Hominy. Whether you’re a hominy lover or trying it for the first time, this recipe is sure to be a hit!
