Captain D’s Dickson TN: A Frustrating Experience and Food Disappointment
Looking for a quick lunch during a busy week, I decided to stop by Captain D’s in Dickson TN, last Wednesday, October 23, 2024.
Hoping for a fresh seafood fix, I downloaded their app to place my order and earn reward points, an experience that unfortunately did not meet my expectations.
After ordering on the Captain D’s app, I waited in my car for the estimated 10 minutes until my food would be ready.
However, what should have been a brief drive-thru wait turned into an extended ordeal.
I found myself in line behind three cars, and 30 minutes later, I still hadn’t reached the speaker.
My Visit to Captain D’s Dickson TN
As I waited, an employee unloading a truck asked me if the restaurant was even open.
Frustrated, I let him know they were open but appeared to be operating at a painfully slow pace.
When an employee finally came on the speaker, her tone was dismissive, explaining they were short-staffed with only two people working.
Tensions rose, and we exchanged some irritated words.
Finally, after 40 minutes, I made it to the drive-thru window, feeling both frustrated and bewildered by the situation.
With only two employees running the restaurant, the quality of service and food clearly suffered.
When I finally received my order, I was beyond disappointed.
My meal—a classic Captain D’s fish and fries combo—was already cold, and the fries were soggy and dripping with old grease.
It was evident the fryer oil hadn’t been changed in quite some time, as my fries and fish tasted like remnants of every previous batch.
Even the ketchup was off, tasting sour and indicating it was well past its prime.
For a meal costing $11, I expected better—both in service and food quality.
The experience was disappointing, and I left feeling like my time and money had been wasted.
I won’t be visiting this Captain D’s location again, as the lack of staff and quality control raises concerns about cleanliness and safety standards.
This visit was unfortunately my last to Captain D’s Dickson TN.
